Campbell Lamont Golf League Grand Final Season 1

Sponsored by Spectrum FM, Nordic Mist, Estrella Levante & Bridgestone Golf
Tuesday 19th April 2011 - La Sella Golf Resort

It was a grand day for a Grand Final as the Campbell Lamont League came to a fabulous conclusion on Tuesday 19th April at La Sella Golf Resort, Jesus Pobre. The Finalists representing the 5 Golf Societies that had played throughout the past year battled it out to become the first CLG League Grand Final Winner. The golf course at La Sella was in a truly magnificent condition having just hosted the Ladies European Nations Cup. The greens were lightening fast, the fairways hard but fair and the rough deep especially around the greens - all of which resulted in very difficult scoring.

Before proceeding to the Grand Final Gala Dinner, Campbell Lamont thanked his Sponsors and Team for their support together with every golfer who had competed within the CL League. He then congratulated the Finalists and explained that each Finalist would actually receive a prize with the overall winner capturing the stunning antique Campbell Lamont League Silver Trophy. Campbell then informed all those present that AXA Insurance will be the new Main Sponsor for the CLG League and with the help of all his current Sponsors, the incredible prizes on offer this year will be bettered several times over for the coming season.

The first Grand Final Champion for 2010 - 2011 with a net score of 71 is Nick Mollart who received a brand new set of Bridgestone Dual Cavity Forged Irons + Cart Bag, his weight in Beer. a Magnum of Champagne and a Nike CLG Polo Shirt. In second place and a new Taylor Made Burner Driver, Colin Cooper with a net 79, third place a Bridgestone Cart Bag, Martin Gates, net 80. Places 4th - 8th, Roy Jones, Neil Carter, Mark Reynolds, Simon Andrews and Mike Boyle, all received a choice of one of the following, Echo Golf Shoes, Odessey Putter or a Callaway Wedge.  The only lady golfer, Anne Edwards, claimed 9th place with Mike Garfield 10th.  Over and above these absolutely superb prizes, each Finalist received a "Goody Bag" comprising a Bridgestone Golf Hat, Tour Cabreta Golf Glove, 6 Balls, Champagne, and Inedit Beer from Estrella Levante.
