Based in the Region of Andalucia on the Costa del Sol, Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort is the only links type golf course in Southern Europe, 18 holes, par 72, 5866m (white tees) of spectacular views of Gibraltar, North Africa and gentle slopes that descend to the Mediterranean Sea and beautiful beaches. Designed by Peter Allis & Clive Clark and opened in 1992, the Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort is a golf course close to the beach with a front of nearly 2km. This 18 hole course begins and ends at the Club House, has varying degrees of slopes, the higher areas being rather windswept, and flat areas.The wide fairways are bordered with gorse and heather so wayward shots are punished and look out for the water hazards but immaculate greens make up for any challenges on the fairways. Alcaidesa Links Golf Course is constantly improving and provides a good, challenging round of golf suitable for all standards of golfers. With wide open fairways that lead to the river valley where the formation of the holes gently take you along the valley but look out for the water features and hazards. The golf course is reasonably flat with the exception of Hole 11 that is laid out over different levels. Mainly par 3 and par 4 holes with the exception of the 2nd and 13th holes which are par 5. Alferini Golf is the only par 73 on the coast. It is 6,600 metres long. Same type of characteristics as the Flamingos Golf Course, large greens. The course is described as technical with long fairways and fast greens, there are plenty of starting platforms on each of the tees which means it will test players of all abilities. Water, bunkers and natural vegetation play a large part in planning your game.

Almenara Golf Resort consists of 27 holes allowing you to enjoy up to three different 18 hole combinations, all with a par of 72, so each game is a new challenge for the player. The fairways wander among exceptionally beautiful natural landscapes amidst two large lakes surrounded by pine and cork trees. The course was designed by the renowned Dave Thomas and constitutes an impassioned challenge for even the most experienced golfer. Almenara is situated on the upper area of Sotogrande and is home to the Sotogrande Golf Academy. This is a beautiful course that offers great value. The surrounding parkland includes several streams and a lake to make this a testing course with stunning views. Whichever hole you are on there is always someting interesting to test your ability.

Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is often voted to be among the top ten golf courses in Europe and boasts mature vegetation with pine, cork oaks, eucalyptus and giant palm trees enhancing the natural beauty of its surroundings. The greens are large and the tees are very long allowing for variations in pin placements and the length of the hole. The contours of the greens are typical Trent Jones and the bunkers were the first in Europe to be filled with brilliant white crushed marble. Another "first" at Sotogrande was the use of Bermuda grass on fairways. There is also an adjacent nine hole par three course where the dark green trees of the fertile Guadiaro River valley and the outline of the distant sierras also create a lasting impression not to mention great "short game" practice.
