Situated in the South West area of Mallorca, Son Muntaner Golf Course was officially opened in May 2000. Designed by Kurt Rossknecht Son Muntaner is an 18 hole, par 72, 6266m, white, course with wide fairways and very large greens.  The downside to this course is that you have to be a guest of the Hotel Mardaval, Son Vida or the Arabella Sheraton to play but if you are staying at either of these hotels then its a great course for a round of golf for beginners and experienced golfers alike. Longer and more difficult than its neighbour, Son Vida, the big greens especially can be tricky and 3 putts, or more, can become a reality.  There is little water on Son Muntaner but it is significant and runs the length of the 2nd and 3rd holes.  One hole to watch is the par 5, 15th - very long and, if the wind is up, is a beast your approach shot will require accuracy and daring.

Mallorca's oldest golf course, Son Vida, Arabella Golf Mallorca, is situated near to the capital, Palma, in the South West of Mallorca.  Originally designed by FW Hawtree, Son Vida was renovated in 2001 by renowned Golf Course Designer, Kurt Rossknecht, and despite being a relatively short course,18 holes, par 71, 5601m, white, it is a challenge to any player with its low ridges, dense forest, mixture of wide and narrow undulating fairways and tricky small greens. Son Vida however, has very little water but is rather hilly.  General opinion is that the course is fair but can be tough in parts. Holes to look forward to are the 6th which is very tight, downhill with a small tricky green and the challenging 8th with its very steep drop where a lot of tee shots are left short due to incorrect club selection.  Son Vida is a good experience and, if possible, not to be missed.

Situated to the East of Palma, Mallorca's Capital, owned and operated by the Marriott Hotels Group both West and East Courses are are always kept in tip top condition. Both courses were designed by Francisco López Segalés  for golfers who wish to play a relaxing round of golf, this however makes both courses popular. The West Course at Son Antem Golf Club, 18 hole, par 72, 6293m, white, is set amongst native woodlands with gently sloping hills, tight fairways, 3 lakes, open countryside and is a challenge for golfers of all skill levels.  The Son Antem East Coast - 18 hole, par 72, 6274m, white, opened in 1990 is probably more suited to the Beginner or Intermediate player and winds its way through an old hunting estate. General opinion is that the beginning of the East Course is slightly easier than the more difficult back nine. It is a relatively wide course but your approach to the greens require accuracy. Sand and water in abundance but both courses are fairly flat making it easy to walk. 

Situated in the South West of Mallorca, Real Golf de Bendinat, designed by Martin Hawtree, was originally opened in 1986 as a nine hole course with the second nine holes being added in 1996 creating an 18 hole, par 70, 5660m, yellow, golf course. Real Golf de Bendinat is set within an extensive and steeply wooded valley.  The undulating and varying terrain gives the golfer the opportunity to use every club in their bag however, there is a large percentage of holes with dog-legs and this can be a problem for the beginner or casual golfer.  The Tees are elevated, fairways are tree lines, there are severe slopes and the greens are difficult.  For the less mobile golfers the hire of a buggy is essential.  This is not an easy course but it is entertaining.

One of Mallorca's newest golf courses, Pula Golf Club opened at the end of 1995 with a major reconstruction taking place in 2006/7 by Jose Maria Olazabal.  Pula Golf has now been transformed into, what is thought to be, one of the most challenging courses in Mallorca.  Pula Golf  is a fairly exclusive Club hosting many top class tournaments and attracting many well known names from the world of show business and sport. Pula Golf also hosted the first "Skins Game" in 1997.   Designed originally by Francisco Segalés the golf couse is 18 holes, par 72 and 6246m in length.  The course is reasonably flat with the use of water on several of the holes which provides an additional challenge there are also some wonderful views of both mountains and the sea.  It is built on the site of an ancient estate and many natural elements have remained in place. All 18 holes are challenging but the tough par 4 1st, 4th, 5th and 7th holes are difficult.  On the back 9 be very careful at the 13th and 18th.  A Handicap Certificate usually has to be presented in order to play at Pula Golf Club.  The Club House and Pro Shop facilities are excellent and with the tasteful Spa it makes Pula one of the highest quality courses in Mallorca.  

Situated on the stunning West Coast of Mallorca, Golf de Andratx, designed by David Kidd, is an 18 hole, par 72, 6089m, white, golf course with magnificent features.  Golf de Andratx is recognised for being original with several extremely raised tees, it is challenging even for the experienced players and is probably one of the more professional courses on Mallorca. With five blind shots running over uneven terrain, large holes, seven ponds and lakes split between 6 holes the chances of staying with your original ball is unlikely. There are sixty bunkers, some extremely tight fairways where accuracy is essential, native flora everywhere, very steep hills, Mallorcan ruins and dog legs but, if you enjoy a challenge, stunning views, a superb and cleverly designed golf course then this is the one for you. Tee times are well managed enabling the player to enjoy his round of golf.

Situated on the West Coast of Mallorca, Santa Ponsa Golf is one of the oldest courses on the Island and the first to stage a European Tour Event. Designed by Folco Nardi, assisted by Pepe Gancedo, Santa Ponsa 1, 18 holes, par 72, 6543m, white, was opened in January 1977.  The course itself  is well established, extremely well maintained by the ground staff and beautifully cultivated in a very traditional style with indigenous trees and vegetation, lots of water and beautiful flora.  Part of a three course complex, Santa Ponsa 1 is the only public course out of the three therefore rather busy not only with general golfers but with National and International competitions.  Santa Ponsa 1 is a very broad course, not too long and fairly flat.   It is a lovely course to play - you will need accuracy and expect some tricky shots to get round the usual dog legs, water hazards and bunkers.

Just a short 10k drive north of the Mallorca capital, Palma, lies the wonderful course of Golf de Son Termens. Designed by the Harris Group and José Rodriquez, Son Termens was opened in May 1998 and have they got this 18 hole, par 70, 5582m, white, golf course just right.  As Son Termens sits on a hillside location you should consider the hire of a buggy and its a course that you will probably have a love/hate relationship with. Difficult greens, some rather small, raised greens, undulating fairways, narrow and wide, bunkers, trees, dog legs, natural vegetation and ravines are all thrown at you. Be in no doubt that this course is a challenge but with its well maintained layout and quick smooth greens its well worth the visit. General opinion is that the back nine is the more difficult.

Club de Golf Son Servera is the second oldest golf course in Mallorca.  Opened in 1967 this John Harris designed 18 hole (9 x 2), par 72, 6018m (yellow tees) golf course is a challenging course and demands accuracy off the tee as most of the fairways are narrow and tree lined, the greens can be fast so being able to read a green is an advantage.  The opening 1st hole can often decide which way your game is heading as your second shot to the green is blind and the outcome of that shot can make or break your golf round.  Surrounded by mountains, tucked away in a quiet area Son Servera is only minutes away from the resorts of Cala Bona and Cala Millor.  Situated close to the sea it is however set in a delightful and peaceful part of the island.  Son Servera is well known for its hospitality and social atmosphere you will therefore feel most welcome when visiting this lovely golf club. A Handicap Certificate is required.

Golf Maioris is only 15 minutes from Palma, Mallorca in lovely surroundings close to the sea.  This 18 hole, par 72, 6309m (white tees) championship golf course has been carved between pine, olive and carob trees in a classic Mallorcan landscape.  Golfers will enjoy the challenge of a course that features four lakes and two island greens. The course begins with a realitively easy par 4 played to a greeen protected by 3 bunkers however, this is merely a warm up for the bigger challenges coming although the golf course has been designed for players of all levels. With an unusual design of pine trees placed in the centre of the 2nd fairway together with some cleverly placed bunkers, water hazards, steep run-offs right, left and to the rear of some the greens make precise approach play a necessity. The 4th is the first of Golf Maioris's par 5's and features an island green which may become a signature hole of the course.  Most golfers will be able to reach the green in two, but for bigger hitters the margin for error between safety and water is slim.  With the hole being defended by a carob tree and other hazards the par 3, 13th you need to commit to your shot competely to succeed here - anything less will be doomed to a watery grave.

Club de Golf Alcanada is situated on the island of Mallorca and was opened in October 2003.  Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr this 18 hole, par 72, 6499m (white tees) golf course is in the northern part of the island near to Alcudia and Pollenca and is generally accepted as a course more suited to the experienced and serious golfer. With an excellent variation of holes from short par 3's to the longest par 5 at just over 615 yards, the course is exceptional with a perfect balance of left and right dog legs, well bunkered fairways and well protected greens. Mature pine and olive trees, wildlife and spectacular views are all around making Alcanada Golf not only a superb course but an interesting one also.   Club de Golf Alcanada is recognised in many golf magazines and guides as one of the best courses in Spain and Europe, the maintenance of the course itself is impeccable with fast, clear greens and good fairways.
