The Old Course at Atalaya is another course that claims to be one of the finest on the Costa Del Sol, and why not. The Old Course opened in 1968, is mature, ideal for walking, (buggies are available), with simply magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains of La Concha. As a result, it must be one of the most impressive courses on the Costa. Atalaya Old Course was created as a golf club, not to be confused with a golf club in the middle of a housing development. This creates a course where members and visitors can enjoy their golf in natural surroundings.  

The New Course opened in 1990, so after 20+ years this is also now a well-established course. It is set in the hills above the old course and here you will be rewarded by the accuracy of your shots. On this course it is not necessarily the distance you hit the ball but the position the ball comes to rest in. A word of warning, in the summer hire a buggy as it is very hot and not the easiest of walking courses. Both these courses should be on your bucket list to play when you are in Andalucía.
