La Manga Golf South – Course Information

La Manga Golf South was designed by Robert D. Putman and Arnold Palmer and stretches to 6500 metres, making it the longest of the three courses at La Manga Club. Specifically, the opening hole begins from an elevated tee between tall trees before opening up to a generous fairway, with the biggest challenge being the stepped green rather than the drive. Furthermore, the early holes offer tremendous variety including a sneaky four-tiered par 3 sloping left to right and a par 5 that punishes big hitters with a dry ditch across the fairway. In addition, the infinity par 3 to a green seemingly floating in the air with mountains beyond is one of the finest holes in all 54 at La Manga Club.

The closing stretch of the South course is exceptional, with the 14th demanding an exacting approach between lake and ditch. Therefore, course management and precise iron play are essential to navigating the final holes without dropping shots. In contrast to the shorter West course, the South rewards length off the tee while still demanding accuracy and intelligence throughout.
