Since our establishment in 2009, the Campbell Lamont Golf Leagues have left an indelible mark on Spain’s golfing landscape. Over these 14 years, we’ve explored various golf formats and received generous support from esteemed partners such as Ford Motor Company, Mercedes Benz, Carnoustie Golf Links, La Sella Golf Resort, and Oliva Nova Golf Resort. Our commitment to the sport has been further underscored by endorsements from legendary golfers Jose Maria Olazabal and Jon Rahm along with Manchester United Legend Lee Sharpe. During this time, we’ve expanded our reach to over seven European countries, all of which have contributed finalists to our European Finals.
Excitement is building for 2024 as Logic Financial Consultants (LFC) takes the lead as the main sponsors for the Campbell Lamont Golf, Ryder Cup Spanish Circuits. Based in Javea, this local, family-operated financial consultancy specializes in meeting the unique financial needs of expatriates in Spain and beyond. “LFC” is providing financial support for the expenses of three winning pairs from the Spanish Final, three pairs from the sponsors, and two pairs for CLG staff/partners. The support includes team uniforms for the Spanish and English teams, a well-stocked halfway house with drinks and snacks, and an impressive prize table along with a trophy for the winning team.
The five qualifying events will feature a pairs betterball stableford format. The top two pairs from each event qualify for free to the Spanish Final at Oliva Nova Golf Resort on Sunday 16th of June, joining 10 winning pairs from the Golf Society circuits. Competitions are divided into two divisions based on the handicap totals of each pair, with the lowest 50% in Division One. The maximum shots received are capped at handicap indexes of 26.4 for both men and women. Players with higher indexes can still compete for a chance to win. Those with multiple handicaps must use their lowest known official handicap for play. The winning three pairs from the Spanish Final will be invited free of charge to join Team Spain to compete against Team UK the weekend of the 21st June.
Mark your calendars for the weekend of June 22nd, 2024, as Campbell Lamont Golf prepares to host an electrifying Ryder Cup weekend of match play golf. This extraordinary event will bring together teams from the UK and Spain at the magnificent Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort. The comprehensive package includes three nights of accommodation with breakfast, three meticulously organized dinners with beverages, and the main attraction – 36 holes of thrilling match play golf.
Team UK (16 players):
Team England will be a force to be reckoned with, comprising three winning pairs from the English national final which was held at Crompton & Royton in August 2023 and an additional five paying pairs, uniting to create a formidable team of 16 players.
Team Spain consists of 16 players, including three successful pairs from the 2024 Spanish Final, three pairs sponsored by esteemed partners, and two pairs representing CLG staff/partners, totaling 8 pairs.
The English team will be captained by Gary Lamont, who holds the position of secretary at Crompton & Royton Golf Club in England.
Guiding Team Spain will be Campbell Lamont, the owner of Campbell Lamont Golf, Spain.
– Saturday, June 23rd: Eight Fourball games, with 8 points up for grabs.
– Sunday, June 24th: A riveting lineup of 16 singles games, offering a total of 16 points.
In the event of a tie, brace yourself for a thrilling penalty putt-off. Six players from each team will each take one putt in a dramatic shootout format.
