The name Los Naranjos comes from the Spanish word Oranges. The course, designed by the world-famous Robert Trent Jones, takes its name from the original orange groves that were in place at the time. The brief to Mr Jones was very clear. The owners wanted long wide fairways and large greens to cater for all abilities, from professionals, (the course has hosted the Spanish Open) and been voted top course on the Costa Del Sol twice. But no matter your ability the course is set up to suit every type of golfer. The signature hole is the par 5 18^th which finishes in front of the club house. Unless you have hit and good tee shot and a good second your third might have to be a lay-up because of the water in front of the green. And don’t forget this is where all your playing partners will be watching your approach shot and you’re putting. So, no pressure at all!
