Mar Menor Golf

Originally the first course in the Polaris World group the Mar Menor course near Torre Pacheco is a good resort course. The first 9 holes were designed by Dave Thomas, par 37, 3,275 meters and the last 9 holes were designed by Jack Nicklaus, par 35, 2,878 meters with wide fairways and with a wide variety of designs. There are many differences between the 2 parts of the course, the first round has fairways with little rough, all its generous greens are protected by large bunkers and by the water of the surrounding lakes. The second round in typical Nicklaus style, featuring wide fairways and roughs that will allow you to hit big shots, although the bunkers are placed in all the perfect spots to pick up the bad balls. A special mention is the spectacular lake that surrounds holes 13, 1, 4 and 15, making water the biggest obstacle to overcome, known by local players as the “amen corner” of Mar Menor.
